That is a neat story, Dee, and very nice of you to make the hats for the woman. As I will have a lot of time on my hands in the future, that gives me an idea to maybe work on some for our own hospital's oncology unit - the unit I used to work on. I'm sure my former boss, who is the department manager would be happy to distribute what I make and bring back some meaning to nursing. I know from my experience there that the stress of the policies and regulations tend to take the desire to care for people out of a person. And perhaps this is one of the reasons why nursing is a dying field - there's no meaning to it anymore. Many nurses, especially the older ones, are in it because they genuinely like to care for people.
I hope I can still get into that intermediate crochet class. It would be nice to get together with other local crocheters and perhaps start a local group of our own and maybe make this a mission of ours. Thanks a million for the inspiration! Sheila
